Etymology
"Navy" came via Old French from Latin navigium = "fleet of ships" from
navis = "ship" and agere = "to drive" (as in driving a herd of
animals) or "to get something done".
"Naval" came from Latin navalis = "pertaining to ship" (which it means
in the biological name Teredo navalis), but due to resemblance
became changed to "pertaining to navy".
